박지수가 그린 풍경에서 밝음과 어두움은 자연스레 나타난다. 서로 상충되기보다 어울려 흡수되는 양상으로 이내 색과 어울려 어떤 분위기를 자아낸다. 재현의 풍경이지만 상상의 영역에서 일상은 쉽게 드러나지 않는다. 이분법적인 구별이 공존의 요소로 드러나면서 나타났다 사라지는 반복이 화면에 쌓여 공간을 이룬다. 조금씩 다르게 변화되는 형상과 색이 어울려 만든 공간은 확연할 것 같지만 경계가 불분명해진다. 자연이라는 자체가 주는 명확함이 있지만 순환의 구조로 본다면 일어남은 다 알지 못하는 것이다. 작가의 풍경은 그러한 성격을 잘 받아들여 화면에 안착시킨다. 규범적 시선보다 보이지 않는 것들을 끄집어내려는 성격에서 어울리다가도 이내 어울리지 못하는 요소로 화면 중심에서 다르게 표현된다. 작품 새빨간, 진심 또는 풍경 속의 정물 시리즈로 기울어진 생은 내면이 좀 더 표출되면서 신비로운 분위기를 선사한다. 평면 안은 싱그럽다기보다 거칠게 삶을 살다 간 생명을 다해 가는 시들어버림을 전제로 한다. 보이는 건 살아감에 집중되어 어두운 색감이 주를 이룬다. 안개처럼 표현되는 희뿌연 색이 공간을 장악할 때 전달되는 내용이 풍경으로 드러난다. 채움과 비움으로 색은 유화와 전통적 재료가 만나면서 모호함이 더해진다. 어떠한 장면은 검은색이 주를 이루어 보다 자유로운 형태 구사로 알 수 없음에 다가선다.

은유의 공간으로 그 자신도 세상을 살아가는 인물로서 이입되어 불분명해지는 것들을 붙들려는 것인지도 모른다. 공존의 구별 안에 색을 어울리게 만들어 한쪽만 있을 수 없다는 양립의 문제를 자연스레 구체화시킨다. 작가의 시각이 어디로 향하느냐에 따라 의미가 달라지는 재현은 예술이 지속되어 온 이유처럼 끊임없이 어떠한 것과 만난다. 보이는 것에서 보이지 않는 상상의 영역을 끌어들이는 경계의 외침은 결국 삶을 어떻게 살아가느냐에 자세를 말하려는 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 살아내야 한다는 성격이 공간에 묻어난다. 느낌으로써 희뿌연 색을 거두어 내려는 노력은 각자의 몫이 아닐까.

The space created by combining shapes and colors that change slightly and differently is likely to be clear, but the boundaries become unclear. There is a clarity given by nature itself, but if viewed as a structure of circulation, we do not know all that occurs. The artist's landscape accepts such character well and settles it on the paper. Rather than the normative gaze, it is expressed differently at the center of the screen as an element that mingles in the personality of trying to bring out invisible things but does not immediately fit. The work "Real Landscape" or the life inclined to a series of still life in a landscape provides a mysterious atmosphere as the inside is more expressed. The inside of the painting is not vivid, but rather it presupposes withering to the end of life. What is seen is concentrated on the sense of life, and dark colors dominate.
